Punishment for Rebellion

This situation will bring punishment, as living like this is not what God intended in creating us. The punishment that He is rightly entitled to impose for this rebellion is death.

Purely and simply, ignoring God is not what we were created for, yet we do it. This deserves punishment. Since we were created to live in a relationship with God, the punishment for rejecting that relationship is death and an eternity away from God, in Hell.

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).
