However, we openly rebel against God by trying to look after ourselves without contact with Him, we try to live our own lives, ignoring that we were made to be in a relationship with Him. In this way all people have rejected God. As we can see by looking at the suffering and poverty in the world around us, we fail dismally both in leading our own lives and in trying to rule the world our own way.
Living life without considering God, without seeking to do what He wants, is ignoring Him. It's certainly not living His way.
We were made to live in a relationship with Him: many people search for meaning in the world, and this search is a search for God.
Yet the pride within us tells us that we can live our own way and succeed. Unfortunately, the world around us is ample evidence that this is simply not the case.
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. (Romans 3:10-12)
