Hi everybody,
This will be a shortish prayer letter because I’m also hoping to finish a video that we’ve been trying to do for the folks at our church in Australia.
Air is just about to have a team from Singapore arrive on Monday. There will be 13 people from Agape Community coming to do evangelism and discipling in Mahasarakam (about an hour east of Khon Kaen) and in Khon Kaen itself. They will visit Rajamonkon College where I work hopefully the first of many teams to do so.
Please pray for the students at Rajamonkon in the English Department that the Holy Spirit will prepare their hearts for what they hear and that they will understand what they hear (on Friday next week my 4th year class will hear the testimonies of the Singaporeans). Please pray for Air because she will have a very busy week and pray for me too because Air will be staying with the team.
I told you last month about my new job (fulltime at Rajamonkon). Well this month I have some more new work because a teacher approached Air at the University and asked if I could teach English. It turns out that he is a professor at the University for Monks in Khon Kaen. So this month I have been teaching monks 2 hours per week which is good because it pays well.
Air’s father has started building the fence for our land actually he is employing his sister and her husband to do it. Please pray for them because they are not Christians and we believe that they may become Christians through the witness of Air’s father. I think that our house may start to be built in January next year. It will probably take about 8 months.
Last week we went to the opening of a new shop belonging to the family that owe us money. By the way the man who lost all the money gambling has disappeared and taken his family with him. This happens a lot in Thailand. Anyway this episode has really changed the lives of the new shop family. At the opening dinner the father gave testimony to all his friends of how he had learnt to forgive the man who had lost the money and how he had decided that he had to do business differently. From now on he was not going to open on Sundays and he was going to make time for his family and Church. He is not going to just seek after money but he is going to let God change his life. Please pray that God will bless their shop.
Air preached last month at Khon Kaen on “Knowing your Enemy” spiritual warfare and at Bua Yai on how important reading the Bible is. It’s really great that she has these opportunities because she is a very exciting teacher. She has continued to teach the youth at Khon Kaen Church and on Wednesday night next week youth from all Churches will come for a big meeting at the Church. (That’s to do with the mission team so I’ve put it in the wrong place).
