Philemon
There are none but the most extreme who doubt that the Apostle Paul wrote the letter to Philemon, as the letter claims.
The letter was probably written in the early 60's (if written from a Roman imprisonment), or late 50's (if from the Ephesians imprisonment). Nevertheless, it is clear that the letter was probably written at the same time as the letter to the Colossians.
- 1-3 Paul and Timothy, to Philemon, Apphia, Archippus and to the church that meets in your home: Grace and peace to you from God and Jesus.
- 4-7 I always thank my God for your faith and your love.
- 8-22 I appeal to you to welcome Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains, as you would welcome me. If he has done you any wrong, or owes you anything, charge it to me. One thing more: prepare a guest room for me, as I hope to be restored to you.
- 23-25 Epaphras, Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke send greetings. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
